Dear Friends,  Welcome to our Web pages.
Here you will find information and pictures relating to our new devotional structure on Rubha Phoil
in south Skye as well as a diary of events showing the progress of the project. Each picture on this site will open in a separate window, which can

Where are we? 
As can be seen by clicking the left hand map,
Skye is situated off the west coast of Scotland (accessible via bridge or ferry).
There are five Bah�'� community areas on the island, with most of the Bah�'� population being in Skye Central.
The building is actually being erected in the Bah�'� community area of Sleat (which is currently unopened*),
the southern finger of the island. Sleat is easily accessible by ferry from Mallaig.
Rubha Phoil is on the headland next to the Armadale ferry terminal near the southernmost tip of Skye and the layout of the site
can be seen by clicking the right hand image.

Dear Friends, This project breaks down naturally into four stages: Planning, Preparation, Construction, and Completion. However, for the time being I have combined the first two into one page � this may change later. We are very excited about this project, which we understand is a first in the UK � the first dedicated Bah�'� structure to be built for devotional use (but, please note, NOT a temple). (The only other purpose built structure we know of is the wee waiting room at the Resting Place of the Guardian in London.) Thank-you for visiting us. We must also give a special thanks ot Mike Smith for the many hours he devoted to the design and manufacture of the parts of the structure, and for bringing it up from Devon to Skye and reassembling it on site � a real labour of love. |
